Annual Stockholder's Meeting
The Annual Stockholder's Meeting will be held on February 8th, 2012 at 6:30 pm at the Jarrell Community Center. All members are encouraged to attend. Door prizes including a water bill credit of $100 will given.

Temporary Ag Meters
In response to the current drought and hardships it is placing on area farmers and ranchers, the JSWSC Board of Directors voted at the October meeting to permit the installation of Temporary meters for agricultural use. Meters may be approved only if capacity is available as verified by the company's engineer. There will be a one year limit on the use of the temporary meters after which time the meter may be converted to permanent status. Applicable fees would include the $50 engineer's fee, a $300 deposit, $500 tap fee and any line extension, upgrade or road bore necessary for service. If a customer chose to convert a meter from temporary to permanent, the $3,700 Equity Buy In fee would be required.

Stage 2 Drought Condition
Until further notice, the Jarrell-Schwertner water system is under Stage 2 Drought Condition restrictions. Stage 2 allows customers to water lawns twice per week, but we strongly encourage all of our customers to use less water than they are allowed. Your help may allow us to delay enacting the next levels of the water company's drought plan. Customers with a street address ending in an even number (0,2,4,6,8) may water lawns on Sundays and Thursdays. Customers with a street address ending in an odd number (1,3,5,7,9) may water lawns on Saturdays and Wednesdays. Please irrigate only between the hours of midnight and 10 a.m. or from 8 p.m. to midnight on your designated watering day. We ask that all customers practice water conservation and minimize or discontinue water use for non-essential purposes. In light of the already severe drought we are facing and the rapid drop in water level we have seen in the recent past, customers should be prepared for rapid changes in Drought Condition and water restrictions. Contact the water office at 512-746-2114 or check here for the latest information.
