With winter weather expected, Jarrell-Schwertner Water Supply Corporation wants to remind customers to take all precautions to protect your home, plumbing, and our water system.
Water System & Plumbing Protection Tips
-
Drip faucets (hot and cold) at a slow, steady drip to prevent freezing
-
Focus dripping on farthest faucets from where water enters your home
-
Open cabinet doors under sinks to allow warm air to circulate
-
Insulate exposed pipes, especially in garages, crawl spaces, attics, and exterior walls
-
Use pipe insulation, heat tape, towels, or foam covers where insulation is missing
-
Disconnect, drain, and store outdoor hoses
-
Cover outdoor faucets/spigots with insulated covers
-
Shut off and drain irrigation/sprinkler systems if possible
-
Keep your home heated consistently, even if you are away
-
Seal cracks or openings where cold air can reach plumbing
-
Know the location of your main water shut-off valve
-
If water flow slows or stops, leave faucets open and contact a plumber
-
If a pipe bursts, shut off your water immediately and call a licensed plumber
⚠️ Frozen or broken pipes can cause loss of water service, low pressure, and system-wide issues. Your preparation helps protect your home, our system, and your neighbors.
Thank you – Jarrell-Schwertner WSC. Stay safe and stay warm!
Gracias – Jarrell-Schwertner WSC. ¡Manténgase seguro y abrigado!

Everything is looking good at this time. Repairs are complete and system flushing will begin shortly to remove air from the water lines.
Please note that it may take some time to fully remove all air from the system. We recommend that customers run water at their location for a short period to help clear air from their service lines as well.
We appreciate your patience and cooperation during this process.
